Chris Dawson is set to face a lengthy trial for alleged murder

Chris Dawson will be facing trial at the age of 73. The former teacher and Jets player will be expected to appear in court in four weeks.

Chris Dawson arrested for the murder of his wife forty years ago

Thus far, Lynette, the wife of Chris went missing in 1982 from their Sydney home. At the time, police could not make any progress until the arrest of Dawson in 2018.

There has been an attempt to throw out the case but the supreme court has currently denied this taking place. As a result, Chris Dawson will appear in court on May 9th.

As the matter stands today, Lynette and his wife had two daughters who, unfortunately, were left behind.

No new developments made in decades

Since no developments could be made regarding her death, Chris Dawson will appear in court on May 9th in what would be a lengthy interrogation and trial.

Right now, Chris claims that he will not have a fair trial given that he is in the public eye at the moment.

At the time of his wife’s disappearance, Lynette was just 33-years-old as reported by Daily Mail. This case has by far captivated the nation.

Right now, Chris Dawson continues to profess his innocence in the matter. In the meantime, Chris is expected to cross the Queensland border in time for his trial.

As previously reported by ABC News, Chris Dawson previously suffered two falls that had left him injured. He was also reported to suffer from depression in 2021 while awaiting his trial.

The High Court judge at the time said that the trial should not take place before June 2021 to allow commentary to abate.

With Lynette’s disappearance nearly forty years ago, hopefully, the trial will present fruitful results.
