Broken Hills Floods cause two deaths and twice the amount of rainfall

23 lives lost thus far in the floods

Thus far, a tragic incident has occurred as one man and another male has lost their lives in an attempt to save friends from a large amount of rainfall taking place in the east of New South of Wales. 

In the tragic incident, the car the men were driving in got caught in the flood. As a result of the Broken Hills Floods, the 56-year-old man was sucked into a pipe and died shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, he could not be revived as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald

Right now, many have been requested to not be on the roads. As well as avoid the ocean in the meantime. Others have also been warned not to leave home as they make it difficult for rescues to take place for the Broken Hills Floods.

In an attempt to inform the residents of NSW, the NSW Incident Alerts was sent out on Tuesday to warn of dangerous flooding. Thus far, some buildings have also been damaged due to the intense rainfall. This is currently the biggest flood since 1989.
