Aussie morning TV’s goes live with bare breast self-examination

Popular Australian morning show, Studio 10, showed a bare breasted woman live on air in the interests of breast cancer awareness.

In the segment on Tuesday (video above), a model identified as Mia performed a breast self-examination while Dr Sam Hay described the procedure and the benefits of the early detection of breast cancer.

Host Jessica Rowe and panelists Sarah Harris and Ita Buttrose followed along, practicing the technique on themselves, as apparently did some viewers at home.

“Great choice of model. I (am) sure that many of us self-checked during the segment too!” Anna Vozzo said on Facebook, congratulating the show for the segment.

“Very informative segment and hats off to your wonderful model for having the courage and grace to demonstrate on TV, not many women could do that,” Candice Henry commented.

According to 9News.com.au, Studio 10’s executive producer Rob McKnight said, “I believe the people of Australia are mature enough to accept the fact that in order to do a breast exam, we need to show naked breasts.”
