Will Smith has been all over the internet following his recent altercation with Chris Rock. It seems that the Oscar-nominated star was not about the jokes made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Will Smith loses his cool with Chris Rock

During the live ceremony, Chris Rock was introducing the Oscar for the best documentary. Following this, he made a remark about Jada’s hair and said “Ji Jane 2 see ya soon.”

The crowd burst with laughter but it seems that Will Smith was the only one that wasn’t okay with the joke made by his wife. Quite frankly, neither was Jada as she rolled her eyes at the joke.

Right after this, Will Smith made his way to the stage and slapped Chris Rock before walking off the stage again. All of the guests at the ceremony were caught off guard and an awkward silence fell on the room.

Chris Rock handles it like a pro

But, like the good sport, Chris Rock is, he actually handled it like a pro and continued with the show as if nothing happened. A lot of social media users were actually taken aback by how the event just continued after that.

When Will Smith made his way back to his seat, next to his wife, he shouted at Chris Rock saying “keep my wife’s name out of your mouth” to which Chris responded, “I’m going to”.

So, if you have not been following everything that Smiths has been doing, one might understand why he lost his cool at this time. When he eventually had to go up the stage to accept his Oscar, Will Smith apologized to everyone.

#Cancel Will Smith

Thus far, Will Smith has not been getting the best feedback on his attack on Chris Rock. During the live broadcast, ABC needed to cancel out the profane language Will was using.

It appears that Chris Rock did not know that Jada Pinkett Smith will take offense to his remark as she suffers from a disease called alopecia. This disease causes hair loss as reported by Harpers Bazaar and explains Will Smith’s response. This does not however justify him laying hands on Chris Rock.

Right now, Will is receiving negative publicity as Twitter is now calling for him to be canceled. Will has also not been charged for the attack.
