Seinfeld in Australian Parliament

An ensemble cast of neurotic, narcissistic blow-hards rambling on about nothing makes for blindingly funny, laugh-out-loud comedy. Well, that’s one observation about Australian politics.

So, mashing up the goings on at Parliament House with the Seinfeld gang obviously made perfect, absurdist sense to YouTube poster, Hew Parkinson.

Splicing some classic Seinfeld moments into real parliamentary footage, complete with the beloved Seinfeld music and editing, the inspired Seinfeld in Parliament video is exquisitely executed and, like both of its sources, hilarious.

Dropping our favourite Seinfeld characters into the midst of our elected representatives, the clip brings us such unforgettable gems as George taking down Bill Shorten in a way that would impress Paul Keating (and keep an ear out for backbencher, George’s dad), Kramer slamming Joe Hockey for being a rabid anti-dentite (we knew it!) and Elaine musing over the Canberra press gallery’s aversion to deodorant.

Right on, Kramer – what is the deal with politics? Enjoy the parliament about nothing.
