Hail cracks windscreen in wild Brisbane storms: driver footage

In this video a driver and what appears to be their passenger capture the moment Brisbane was hit by huge hail stones during last week’s wild storm.

As they are driving through the streets of the Queensland capital, hail stones up to the size of a tennis ball begin to pelt down on the car. They try to take refuge. pulling to the side of the road. They can do nothing but in the car, filming as the stones crack the windscreen and smash the body of the vehicle.

Another Brisbane resident filmed this video as the hail stones dropped on his home, covering his lawn and ruining his car.

CAUTION: coarse language thoughout

Dubbed a ‘superstorm’, the early summer tempest is expected to be one of Brisbane’s most costly weather events in terms of damage.
