Triple J Hottest 100 winner and full complete list

THE full list of this year’s Triple J’s Hottest 100 poll of Australia’s favourite songs is in.

For the first time a hip hop act is the winner of the annual countdown, with ‘Thrift Shop’ by Seattle’s Macklemore & Ryan Lewis coming in at number 1.

As usual, Aussie acts featured heavily in the Triple J Hottest 100 list with 41 songs by 36 local artists featuring in the poll. This compares to the 25 tracks by American artists and 22 by the British. Breakthrough Australian DJ Flume (or Harley Stretan to his mates) was the most represented act on this year’s list with four nods, and the highest placed local performer with ‘Holdin’ On’ slotting in at number 4.

The Hottest 100 countdown of the favourite songs of the past year, as voted for by listeners of youth radio station Triple J, is broadcast annually by the network on Australia Day (26th January) and is reportedly the world’s largest music poll.
