Stefan Banach is best known as the originator of mathematical analysis. On July 22nd the Google giant honored him with his own doodle.
On this day in 1922, Stefan became a professor. So far, his Google Doodle is shared on this day due to his accomplishment at the University.
To date, Stefan Banach actually celebrated his birthday on March 30th. However, his doodle was not posted on that day because his big break was back in the early 1900s.
Previously, Banach tried to become a part of the military, but he was deemed unfit to the role since he had weak eye-sight.
While this was a shortfall, bigger things were in store for Stefan Banach. As he would achieve one of his biggest milestones as he became a professor at a University.
Unfortunately, the life of Stefan Banach was cut short when he was diagnosed with lung cancer and sadly died in the year 1945.
Thus far, the Google Doodle shows an illustration of Stefan’s face with number swirling around it. The Doodle is finished off with light hues of purple and blue.
As shared by iNews, Stefan Banach was interested in mathematics since he was a little boy. As a child, Banach did not know his mother and was also sent to be raised by family in the city.

During school breaks, Stefan would solve mathematical problems with his best friend, who would also become a famous mathematician.
Since Stefan was largely self-taught, his talents quickly interested many others in field and would later start a foundation called the Polish Mathematical Society.
