Serena Williams denies retirement rumors amid Wimbledon loss

Serena Williams recently lost her singles match against France’s 115th seed in tennis. While Serena won a few sets, the tennis player could no longer keep up the pace.

Tennis star makes a comeback to tennis after a year

To date, this will be Serena Williams’s first tennis match in a year after she got her injury during a match at the Wimbledon last year. Since then, the tennis player has been practicing to get back on the court this year.

While Serena Williams lost to Harmony Tan, she has no plans of retiring anytime soon as the tennis player will participate in the US Open later this year. Serena would have added another Wimbledon title this year having won one six years ago.

With that being said, during the match, Serena Williams sported some tape on her face. If you’re wondering what the reason for this is, you’ve come to the right place.

According to CNN, the tennis star suffers from a bad sinus during her normal day-to-day activities and even more so during her tennis matches. The tape is to relieve the pressure and pain while playing her matches or at least this one.

Thus far, Williams has shared that she gave the ‘best she could’ on the court during her match against Harmony Tan. As for Tan, the moment was a surreal thing as she grew up watching Serena Williams play tennis.
