Peter Matera ‘lucky to be alive’ after heart attack in Victoria

Peter Matera suffered a severe heart attack while in his hometown Victoria. Luckily, his wife was around to assist him. The Eagles great is currently fighting for his life in ICU.

Thus far, doctors share that Peter Matera is lucky to be alive after his severe heart attack. Had his wife Suzy not been around, the Eagles great would not have made it reports say. 

Usually, Peter Matera would be in the tractor as shared by his brother. This time, he was lucky enough to have been chopping wood. Fox News reports that Peter suddenly collapsed while out on the fields.

Since his wife was nearby, she was able to take him to the hospital speedily. It is through this that Peter Matera is lucky to be alive. 

“The doctor was saying he was lucky he had someone with him and they could get him straight into the hospital,”

So far. Peter’s younger brother Phil shared that his brother had begun to feel chest pains just before he collapsed on the ground. At this time, his wife was able to notice and went straight to him.

To date, Peter Matera was taken to a hospital nearly 90 kilometers away at Bendigo hospital. Here he remains in critical condition in ICU. 

Sadly, the Eagles great suffered his heart attack at a time he would have been on his way to the Eagle’s 30-year anniversary of the 1992 premiership. The celebrations is set to take place in Western Australia. 

Currently, his younger brother thanks everyone for their good wishes and support. This comes as his brother is still in critical condition at the hospital.
