My favourite Iso trend: Loungewear

What weird and fascinating times we are experiencing right now. Staying home has really brought out some interesting new trends. We have been forced to think outside the box of our normal everyday life, and to be creative and innovative in everything that we do. From socialising by hosting online dinner parties with our family and friends, to a Zoom home workout with our local gym. Whether you are smashing your online workouts, getting all those DIY jobs done around the house that you never had  time for (I believe Bunnings is busier than ever), or just bored in the house working on your new TikTok account (or TikTac as my hairdresser refers to it LOL) one thing is for sure, the world as we know it –  has changed forever.

“Loungewear”, is defined as: “casual, comfortable clothing suitable for wearing at home”. To me, is the beautiful intertwined friendship of the humble tracksuit, activewear (thank you yummy mummies for making this a thing), and luxurious knitwear for our luxe ladies.

Australian designers are all promoting their own loungewear ranges more than ever on Instagram (I may have fallen prey to a few of these targeted ads), and some new brands have popped up focussing purely on this trend.  Loungewear is really suited to anyone. If you are a Gen Z Tik Tok loving follower of the Hailey Bieber tribe, no doubt you are rocking some seriously hot bike shorts, cropped tees and oversized hoodies. If you are a millennial (as myself) you would love the funky yet classic ranges with animal prints galore by Seed Heritage, good old classic sweats by Country Road, and for the slightly more classic gal – Camilla and Marc basics. If you are a more luxe classic lady, you would love the luxurious wool matching sets seen at Camilla and Marc and Witchery, wool cardigans and organic cotton range Clé, would be right up your alley. For all the ladies who love doing their activewear (I’m a Lululemon fanatic myself for workout wear), you are loving life right now. Is anything more comfy than yoga pants? I think not. I have a few pairs from Lahanswim and their fabric is butter soft and super comfortable for all day lounge wear.

As  a woman fast approaching the 40’s next year, comfort has become crucial to my everyday style. I am obsessed with this trend, and fully embracing it. It’s so good to see restrictions being lifted in NSW and around Australia at the moment, and life is slowly but surely returning back to some kind of ‘normal’. But if there is one thing I certainly won’t say goodbye to, it is my “Loungewear” as a staple.

Stay safe, fabulous and always comfortable.
