‘Everything is Awesome’ at the Oscars as Lego steals the show [VIDEO]

The team behind The Lego Movie decided to do something unconventional for their Academy Award performance of ‘Everything is Awesome’, which was nominated for Best Song.

The crew approached New York-based Lego artist Nathan Sawaya to create 20 Oscar trophies made from Lego bricks.

During the fabulously awesome performance of ‘Everything is Awesome’, dancers presented Lego Oscars to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Steve Carell, Meryl Streep and Channing Tatum.

Oprah’s reaction was absolutely priceless:

When The Lego Movie was surprisingly left out of the category for Best Animated Movie, co-director, Philip Lord decided to make his own.
