Karnivool ready new material for European tour

Australia’s Karnivool are returning to the UK for The Divergence Tour this March with some new material, proving you can’t have too much of a good thing.

Karnivool 2015

Having recently appeared at both Download & Sonisphere festivals, Perth five-piece Karnivool are currently working on new material in Australia, before heading across the seas for their Divergence Tour of the UK and Europe next month.

Singer Ian Kenny says: “we can’t wait to get out of the rehearsal room to do this run of shows, it’s our fourth European tour on Asymmetry and the shows keep getting bigger and hopefully better. We’re especially excited to have Monuments out on the tour too.”

Guitarist Drew Goddard agrees, adding: “We’re hoping to be playing some new material that we’re in the middle of right now.”

While you are holding you breath, enjoy a little something from Assymmetry:

Karnivool’s most recent album, Asymmetry, debuted at #1 in Australia and went on to be awarded the ARIA for best metal release. It took just seven days to join their previous efforts, Themata and Sound Awake, at gold sales status.

Monkey business

The band has spent the last two years on the road with shows from Adelaide to Moscow, Romania to India. Indeed, this tour will be their first since the chaotic Indian tour last month where the band’s sound check was interrupted by a.. monkey. The primate stole a bottle from the band’s rider and promptly disappeared into the lighting truss, lost its footing and spilt the drink straight into the guitar amp, blowing it – and the stage power – completely.

We aren’t sure if the primate realised it would take as long as it did to get the power back on but the show did happen, three hours late. The 10,000 fans didn’t seem to mind (the monkey was reportedly unavailable for comment).

Karnivool on vinyl

Karnivool’s catalogue will finally be available on vinyl for the first time in April 2015. Each album will come as gatefold double record with best quality 180 gm vinyl, something the band has waited a long time to do.

“They’ve been too long coming, we know, but we’re hoping they’re going to be worth it” said guitarist Mark ‘Hos’ Hosking.

“We’ve gone to the best mastering and pressing plants and put the lyrics on the sleeves for good measure. I can’t wait to hold one in my hot little hands”

UK and Europe; get ready for Divergence

The Divergence Tour 2015 starts in Europe with shows in Germany, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic and The Netherlands before heading to the UK.

Karnivool play Glasgow ABC on March 23, Manchester Ritz on March 24, Nottingham Rescue Rooms on March 25, Bristol Academy on March 26, Southampton 1865 on March 27, finishing at the iconic London Roundhouse on March 28.

Tickets to Karnivool: The Divergence Tour available now from LiveNation.co.uk and Karnivool.com
