Hillsong Church has announced that Pastor Brian Houston will not be attending to his leadership duties for the 2022 year. This comes as he deals with a court case involving his father.
Hillsong Church leader deals with a court case
According to Daily Mail, Brain Houston’s father sexually assaulted multiple boys from the year 1965 to 1977 while he led the Assemblies of God Church. It is alleged that Brian Houston covered up the crime.
While Brian Houston may be dealing with a lawsuit involving his father, he has also committed some indiscretions in the Hillsong Church.
According to the current leader of the church, Phil Dooley has relayed that pastor Brian Houston has committed some indiscretions at the Hillsong Church.
As relayed by Dooley, two women reported inappropriate behavior conducted by the pastor. Allegedly, pastor Brian Houston has been taking sleeping pills and had been very reliant on them at the time of making a former employee uncomfortable.

Presently, Pastor Dooley has expressed that pastor Brian had sent the unnamed woman a text message within the lines of kissing and cuddling her.
The resigned employee had found it difficult to find a job. Pastor Brian Houston offered to pay her three months salary. As he expressed it was completely her fault that she resigned from the Hillsong Church in the first place.
This was brought to the attention of the board and has been dealt with swiftly. According to Brian Houston, the Hillsong Church decided it would be best if he dealt with his case. That is, stepping down from his leadership duties.
Another instance brought up was with a woman he met in a hotel lobby. Apparently, Brain Houston could not find his hotel keys and knocked on the door of the woman. He reportedly stayed in the hotel for forty minutes before leaving.

Currently, neither Brian nor the woman has said that any sexual relations took place. Till now, both have currently denied that anything happened in the hotel room. Brian was allegedly under the influence. As of late, the Hillsong Church has reportedly helped Brian get rid of the dependence on sleeping pills.
Right now, Brain intends to set the record straight in terms of the sexual assault case regarding his father.
