The Lost Daughter: The Exceptional Official Trailer Released

The lost daughter based on the book of the same name will be in theatres on 17 December 2021.

The official trailer of the lost daughter has been released and the sneak peek gives us everything we want.

This new movie deals with a mother who has been estranged from her daughters and lives a life on her own. She takes a trip to Greece and meets a mother and her daughter who then goes missing.

At this stage, the estranged mother played by Olivia Colman gets reminds her of her own daughters who have moved to Canada to live with their father.

The estranged mother ‘Leda’ eventually finds the little girl and reunites her with her family. In a deeper look at the story, we get a look at the mothers and how they deal with parenthood.

Leda finds the doll of the little girl before finding her and this reminds her of her troubling childhood. This motivates her decision to hold on to the doll before returning it to the mother.

Additionally, Leda tries to persuade the mother to leave her family and pursue her dreams. This shows us plenty of psychological drama and undealt with issues.

While the film is an adaptation of a book written by the author Elena Ferrante, she chooses not to involve herself in the filmmaking process as she believes everyone has their own narrative which the producers should follow.

So, the movie hopefully won’t ruin the reading of the book if you haven’t read it yet.

The Lost Daughter will be available on Netflix on 31st December 2021.
