The 44-year-old rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has officially changed his name to Ye. The rapper has been hinting at this name change since 2018.
A Los Angeles judge has approved the request for name change by Kanye West on Monday. The father of four children with soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim Kardashian no longer has a middle name or surname and is now legally known as Ye.
While the pair is finalizing a divorce filed by Kim Kardashian earlier this year, Kim won’t be changing her last name as it is important to her that she has the same last name as her children.
The request for his name change has been listed for personal reasons so we do not have a clear reason as to why Kanye West chooses to change his name to Ye other than the fact that it is mentioned countless times in the bible.
So, the pronunciation of this word or Kanye’s new name is not in the least the same but we cannot wonder about the fact that the star is trying to make a reference to his existence being very important or somehow historical which, to be honest, kind of is.
