11 Things we’re all looking forward to when lockdown ends

There are many things, big and small, to look forward to when lockdown ends once and for all. Whether it’s a night out on the town, live music or a trip to the gym, everyone has something that they’re counting down the minutes until they can revisit.

Hair Cuts

One of the most longed for throughout each lockdown, many of us have spent months of the past year trying to come up with innovative ways to hide roots and treat split ends at home while we wait for salons to reopen. The end of lockdown will again bring us back to the services of professional hairdressers, so we can finally say goodbye to home remedies and treat our hair to some much-needed pampering.

Overseas Holidays

While this one may be one of the last things to return, many of us are setting our sights on a future trip abroad once lockdown ends. After a full year of little to no overseas adventures, we’re all a little stir crazy, so the thought of boarding a plane and jetting off to sun, sea and sand is understandably exciting to many.

So, whether you’re planning to recreate a holiday that was cancelled by the pandemic or think up a whole new idea to get exploring, there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming months.

Drinks With Friends

Sitting in a busy pub with friends enjoying a cool pint or a glass of wine seems like a distant memory after months of lockdown and restrictions. Many of us are itching to get back to our regular haunts with friends.

While Zoom meet-ups can help to plug the hole left by a lack of opportunities to socialise, there’s nothing quite like getting to sit back, relax and chat with friends in person.  The thought of pub quizzes – in an actual pub – is an extra bonus!

Live Music

Live music has taken a big hit from the pandemic. Many venues are struggling to make ends meet, having gone without their primary sources of revenue for so long. The return of live music is one of the most eagerly anticipated, whether you’re a fan of rock, classical or pop music.

It’s fair to say that a gig or concert will likely top most people’s lists of things to do when coming out of lockdown. The joy of experiencing live music again and helping our favourite venues get back on their feet will undoubtedly be satisfying after so long at home.

Getting Back Out There

Many people have missed the fun of late nights with a partner. Whether known or brand new, if this blog post is anything to go by, it seems that we’ll all be enjoying our fair share of intimate partners once lockdown ends.

If there’s no special someone waiting for you, there’s no need to worry. You can find plenty of exciting encounters online with some of Babestation’s gorgeous cam girls – and there’s no need to wait until the end of lockdown for this COVID friendly type of online intimacy.

Meals Out

Going out for a meal is one of the most enjoyable and luxurious experiences out there. After months of cooking for ourselves or ordering in food, many of us are keen to get back to enjoying our favourite dining experience.

Whether you fancy Mexican, Italian, sushi or classic burgers, it will be a delight for many to get back to their favourite eatery. The added bonus of supporting local restaurants after the pandemic will make the experience all the sweeter for many.

Visiting Family

It has been many months for most people since they were able to see their loved ones in person. Especially, if you have relatives who are shielding, there has been little opportunity to visit family safely. While virtual meet-ups have helped, these are no real alternative to seeing each other in person.

Once the vaccine has been rolled out and the restrictions fully lifted, there will undoubtedly be a rush of family gatherings and reunions, grandparents meeting new additions to the family, and belated birthday celebrations.

Live Sports

The return of live sports is eagerly anticipated for many sports fans. While many sports have restarted, they are mostly played behind closed doors. As any football fan will know, the match isn’t quite the same without the sounds of a cheering crowd, and watching sports on TV can’t bring the same atmosphere and energy that viewing a match in person can.

Exercise Classes In-Person

While online classes can do a lot to fill the gap left by gyms and real-life classes, there is nothing quite like going to a proper yoga studio or Pilates class.

In particular, yoga has a lot of focus on meditation and relaxation while exercising, which can be hard to achieve when doing in your living room! Having the ability to get away from the house, leaving behind thoughts of dishes, laundry or the piles of work growing on your home office desk, will make the experience all the better.

Hugs

Human contact has suffered thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Many of us miss the smaller, simpler things like a hug from a friend or relative. While we may have been able to meet up with friends and family over the past months, we have mostly been unable to hug or touch, leading to some serious implications for mental health.

Those of us lucky enough to spend lockdown with family may not be feeling the need for human contact quite so much, but it will still be undeniably joyful to be able to give your friends and family a big hug after lockdown.

Going To The Cinema

Sticky floors and semi-comfortable seats aside, many of us are keen to get back to see the newest films on the big screen. After a year of streaming things on TVs and laptops, the prospect of a screening at the cinema and the excitement of a brand-new film to watch is high on many people’s lists.
