Powerage from Newcastle, NSW will now take part in the Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) World Finals in London this December and could snatch up the first prize of US$100,000 in cash.
The thrilling final saw 16 great bands from all across Australia and New Zealand playing to an amazing array of music industry VIPs. Despite some very serious competition, the powerful four-piece raised the bar and electrified the stage with their no-frills hard-rocking songs.
The band members of Powerage may only be 14-17 years old, but they play with a maturity far beyond their years. As GBOB Australia organiser Denny Burgess says, “GBOB is a competition for serious bands, and this band fits the bill. These guys work hard, play hard and really go for it. They thoroughly deserve to be heading to London for the World Final”.
Powerage have been together for nearly four years, and are committed to writing power rock songs and taking their music to the world. They have an unshakable belief in the quality of their music and are determined to make a career from their passion. Check out their profile at www.gbob.com/powerage
