Celebrate Australia Day in style. Australian Business’ event features entertainment from Australians currently performing in West End productions of Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, as well as a few surprises.
Australian Business is the only organisation in the UK bringing together professionals and companies with Australian and New Zealand interests through business opportunities and events. The event is supported by the Australia Day Foundation.
Drinks and canapés are included in the ticket price, including Australian beer, wine and Vili’s pies. Tickets are £15 + VAT for members and £30 + VAT for guests and available at www.australianbusiness.co.uk.
Australian Movie Marathon

Presented in association with Australian Times. Celebrate Australia Day at Jetlag with a movie marathon of classic comedy followed by a Heath Ledger double bill. First up is Strictly Ballroom, a classic tale of the new guard bucking tradition. This is followed by Wog Boy where Vince Colosimo plays Australia’s biggest dole bludger. Next is The Castle, the tale of the Kerrigan family taking on the government.
The Heath Ledger double bill features A Knight’s Tale, a comedy set amidst the jousting knights of the middle ages, and The Dark Knight, Ledger’s last film before he died.

The Underdog in Clapham Common is throwing the ultimate party this Australia Day! Doors open 10am and things kick off with four hours of fun on their surf simulator! Show off your talent (or inability) in the surfing competition from 1pm – 2pm. There are prizes for the winners, and laughter and potential embarrassment for the losers. Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown will be playing, along with great Aussie beer specials and piping hot Pukka pies.

They’ll be counting down the Triple J Hottest 100, and there’ll be heaps of prizes, giveaways, live music and DJs. Tooheys Extra Dry, VB and Fosters will only be £2.50! Come and sizzle a sausage on the bbq!
Each Belushi’s will be running the Occa of the Year Awards (think “I’m a Celebrity…” meets your more traditional pub quiz), where you can take on your fellow challengers to be named Occa of the Year. There will be plenty of Bundy Rum and giveaways including trips and accommodation across Europe. At Belushi’s in Shepherd’s Bush — hub of the Aussie Expats — they will be open until 2am, there will also be an all day BBQ on the terrace and the Best Aussie Burger in Town.
