Education opportunities for Australians in the UK

Moving to the UK as a non-EU citizen comes with quite a few challenges, but with enough patience and determination, settling down in the UK is an achievable goal. An excellent goal for going through the process is getting an education in the UK. Aussies coming to the UK have some stellar education opportunities available and they can be the start of a thriving career. Here are the most important ones:

1. Some of the finest universities in the world

The UK has some of the most prestigious universities in the entire world. Schools like Cambridge and Oxford have set the highest of standards in education and their doors are open to Australians. They have as good of a chance as any EU resident of becoming a student at some of the UK’s finest schools.

Each university has its own application process and it is up to you to build a strong case for yourself. You need to have the grades, of course, and you need to pour your heart out in the personal statement. Be sincere, be convincing, but most importantly, be unique, and you will get the recruiters’ attention.

British universities also offer scholarship programs for Australians, so don’t stress about paying the entire tuition. All you need to do is include the financing documents in your college application and a long-term process will be sorted out for you.

2. Stellar online courses

There are faster and more convenient ways than universities to get a solid education. A great education opportunity for Aussies moving to the UK is the platform known as Courses Online. You can begin your education in a wide range of fields and build a career online. It is also a very good choice if you want to continue studies that you have started in Australia.

The other major advantage is schedule flexibility. You can have a part-time job and not have to worry about making it to class every day. You can do your studying in your own time and organize your week optimally. This is also the fastest way to start a full-time career in the UK because the courses have accreditation and they are oriented towards integrating the students in the British working system.

3. Teaching Programs

Australians can sign up for teaching programs in the UK. These are aimed at English native speakers who want to teach the language or various other socio-cultural aspects that are proper to Australia. You can work with people from all over the world who are looking to learn English or you can work with Brits on expanding their knowledge of Australian culture, as well as the particularities of Aussie English.

Teaching programs are an excellent opportunity if you are looking for temporary employment, but also if you want to build a career in education. And you get to do it by honoring your Australian heritage! As an added benefit, you get to develop some important skills such as public speaking, organizing a course, and working with people from other cultures. This type of experience is very rewarding both from a professional and a personal standpoint.
