Uber self-driving cars are here… this is what it’s like to ride in one [WATCH]

VIDEO: Funky but just a bit freaky. Can you trust a computer to swerve out of the way or slam on the brakes?

Ride-sharing app giant Uber is rolling out its very first GPS guided, self-driving cars to passengers in the city of Pittsburgh.

Check out Bloomberg’s early look at the initiative (video above).

Some analysts suggest that Uber will ultimately be able to free itself of its drivers and offer only driverless rides via the app. However Uber have said that eventuality is unlikely.

“Self-driving is core to Uber’s mission,” Anthony Levandowski, Uber’s vice president of engineering said, according to AFP. But the company insists that its future includes cars of the human driven and computer piloted kind.
