This Week In… Birmingham

It’s official, Birmingham is the Home of Metal. Must be something evil in the water.

A disproportionate number of metal bands have come from the Brum, including such dark lords as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Napalm Death, but until now the city has had nothing to show for it.

But now is the time to don your cloak, clasp your goblet and throw the horns as this week sees the launch of the Home of Metal project, which seeks to highlight its metal legacy through exhibitions, performances, film screenings and events that cover the music, the fashion, the art, the fans, and even metal metal, as in the material, which is also an important part of Birmingham’s history.

There are also a loads of gigs taking place and events are scheduled well into next year. See Homeofmetal.com for full details
