Getting Stoked on Ibiza’s other gems
PROMOTION | Ibiza has always instilled fear into our very being. Of course, we’d heard the stories, saw the movies, listened to the compilations, and so on. We knew what the place was about – but we stayed away. Until now!
IBIZA has always instilled fear into our very being. Of course, we’d heard the stories, saw the movies, listened to the compilations, and so on. We knew what the place was about, and so we avoided it. For years. Every year when we’d thought it was time to finally head over, we’d seem to always come across some returning grey skinned club casualties, with stories that made our livers quiver, and so we’d avoid it.
Until Easter 2012. Stoke Travel ran the first of its spring trips out there and we tagged along. And what a surprisingly pleasant time we had!
Contrary to what we’d previously believed, there was no imperative to engorge one’s pupils with handfuls of cut rate disco biscuits. You could go out there, have a couple of drinks, and cut shapes to the wonderfully repetitive techno sounds. No need to fortify your hair with gel, no fluoro, no whistles, nor glow sticks. No chewing your face off at 8am (truth be told, we were safely entombed in bed by then). Couple of drinks, and a heck tonne of dancing. What were we so worried about?
And to boot, with our hangovers mild, we got up and did shit. I kid you not! We hired a car and explored, we hugged her many curves, we plunged into her bushy areas and we thoroughly explored her backside. We also drove around the island a bit.
It was so pleasant. Ibiza, we discovered, is a bloody nice island. And while the water was still a little nipple inducing, the air temp was très swim worthy, so we frolicked a little. And ate calamari by small ports and bought trinkets for our much neglected loved ones at small stalls run by soap dodging kick backs from the 1970’s.
We’re heading back out in May, and while it’s certain wild times will be had, now we know we can space them out with some mum-worthy sightseeing.
Stoke’s May Ibiza trip runs 25 – 27 May. £100 is good for two nights beachfront accommodation, all meals at the resort, open bar from 11am – 11pm and some beautiful sights to see. More info at StokeTravel.com

When people travel to different beach & party destinations, they usually agreed that Ibiza is a very competitive place. Apart from the sad stories about a party Island, Ibiza is for sure one of the most relaxing places in MAY, (hcbi.es) where you can get offers and disconts to enjoy the island with less people, discover its Speechless beaches, and still enjoy amazing night atmosphere.
