ON Sunday (20 May), a member of the Buffalo Soldiers team in the White City Tag Rugby competition, Jade Elias, staged an event called the Tag Olympics at London’s Hyde Park with all proceeds going towards mental health charity, ‘Mind’.

Jade – the niece of New South Wales State of Origin legend Benny Elias – contacted Try Tag Rugby to see if they were interested in getting involved with the event and without hesitation, Try Tag Rugby agreed to support the Tag Olympics which was raising money for a great cause.

Try Tag Rugby CEO Phillip Browne commented: “The day was a big success with everyone involved having a great time and plenty of money was raised for the mental health charity, Mind. Jade has done a wonderful job organising this event and we are glad that we could contribute towards it.”

The Tag Olympics organiser, Jade, added: “I’m really appreciative to Try Tag Rugby for supplying the Rugby equipment such as balls, markers, tags, tag rugby shorts and the referee for the event as well as helping to spread the word. My target was to raise £1,001 for Mind and I’m nearly there!”
