Black Caviar arrives in England
A relieved Peter Moody welcomed the news Black Caviar had travelled without incident to the other side of the world.

A relieved Peter Moody welcomed the news Black Caviar had travelled without incident to the other side of the world.
The trainer’s concerns about Black Caviar’s 30 hour-plus trip to England from Australia had been well documented but all reports were positive that the champion mare had taken the trip in her stride.
Black Caviar arrived in London in the early hours of Friday morning (AEST) before being transported to her base at Newmarket.
Moody said the unbeaten sprinter had eaten well and taken in the necessary fluids during the trip.
“It’s a big relief. I spoke to the boys along the way and they were all very happy, but more importantly the end result was very pleasing,” Moody told Sky Sports radio.
“They reported that her fluid intake was very good on the flight, which is important, and she grazed all the way.
“So after being a little bit flighty initially when they loaded her in at Melbourne, they said the further she went the better she became.”
Moody’s stable foreman Tony Haydon and vet Peter Angus travelled with Black Caviar to England.
Black Caviar is being aimed at the Group One Diamond Jubilee (1200m) at Royal Ascot on June 23.
Moody said the next two days would be important for the champion mare.
“You want to see her get right on her food and get plenty of fluids into her,” he said.
Black Caviar is unbeaten in her 21 starts and is the dominant favourite for the Diamond Jubilee race.
