AUSTRALIAN goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has proved hot property in the English Premier League (EPL) with invitations to trial for two more clubs.

The Central Coast Mariners custodian has accepted offers to train with Wigan Athletic and West Bromwich Albion later this month.

This will follow a one-week spell with Tottenham Hotspurs, which begins on Thursday in London.

The Mariners said news of the 20-year-old’s trip to the UK sparked “unprecedented interest” from a number of EPL and Championship clubs keen to trial the promising player.

Named the A-League’s best keeper in the 2011/12 season, Ryan was drafted into the Australian squad for the first time in February, when the Socceroos met Saudi Arabia in a World Cup qualifier.

With a season still left on his contract with the Mariners, he will return home in mid-August for pre-season training. – AAP
