Tag hits the astroturf
Whilst many Londoners have been hibernating over the long, cold and wet winter, a group of dedicated Tag Rugby players has been taking to the Astroturf on Thursday nights in North West London.

After five rounds of competition, the cheekily named 'Ref’s Fault' has put down a marker as the team to beat, remaining undefeated. Featuring a wealth of Oztag experience, Ref’s Fault is arguably the strongest team to take to the pitch in London since Tag Rugby began in mid 2008.
This week Ref’s Fault took the sword to a girl-less Willesden Wanderers using the extra point per try advantage (for playing the appropriate number of females) to finish up winning 34-10. The whole squad played well, with Michelle Greentree awarded player of the match.
In the other game, Sparkle Motion fought hard to overcome a much improved Nuts & Jugs, 20-14. King de Guia was named player of the match.
Meanwhile, Try Tag Rugby London has opened registrations for summer competitions beginning in the last two weeks of April. Men’s, mixed and ladies’ leagues will be held in Finsbury Park, Gladstone Park, Holland Park, King George’s Park, Tooting Bec Common and Southwark Park. No matter where you live in London, a Try Tag Rugby competition will be easily reached on the tube.
The first 25 teams (or equivalent individuals) who pay the full registration fee for a summer competition will be entitled to a free set of playing shirts. Registrations close on April 15th so get in fast to avoid missing out. For further details please visit www.trytagrugby.com
