OKTOBERFEST, PAMPLONA RUNNING OF THE BULLS AND LA TOMATINA

Summer’s here and the time is ripe for more than just dancing in the streets; it’s time to put your mind and body on the line.

Most of us prefer to think we ride the cultural high-road over some of our rowdier compatriots when travelling around Europe. We do all enjoy a bit of a shindig though, don’t we.

Of course the continent abounds in a myriad of festivals but there are three in particular that have etched themselves far enough into the travellers’ psyche to be genuine rights of passage.

So, who are we kidding? Cut loose, release your inner larrikin and get wild.

We’ve rallied together some travel party pros for their expert advice on going crazy and running wild at Europe’s big three ‘before you die (and you just might)’ fiestas: Pamplona, La Tomatina and Oktoberfest.

You only live once.
