AT A fancy function in London last night, Prince William and his wife Catherine were invited by the South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill to visit Adelaide.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were dining at an exclusive event held by the prestigious Thirty Club, of which South Australia’s Agent-General Bill Muirhead is Chairman (the first Australian to hold the position). The royal couple were approached over dinner by the SA Premier Mr Weatherill who took the opportunity to invite them to his state’s capital.
Mr Weatherill, a guest for the evening of Mr Muirhead, sat at the head table with the royal couple but declined to provide any details of the discussion he had with ‘Wills and Kate’, other than to say he had extended to them an invitation to visit his state.
Guests of the exclusive evening also included famous British TV presenter and former footballer Gary Lineker and his wife Danielle, as well as businesswoman and UK judge on The Apprentice Karren Brady, and journalist and broadcaster Andrew Neil.
