Kaffeine
This Australian/New Zealand owned café, located near Oxford Street, offers a funky atmosphere to enjoy your quality coffee. Boasting a wide range of scrumptious treats, like their famous ANZAC biscuit or Portuguese tarts, Kaffeine offers the London-based Aussie a place where fond memories are re-kindled and friends are made.

The Flat White
This little café in Soho has a big reputation for serving some fantastic coffees. It also offers Antipodean sweet treats and possibly the best espresso in London. This hotspot has become a meeting point for Australian and New Zealand expats and is usually full from early morning. Pop down and try the ‘flat white’, an Australian/New Zealand coffee that is stronger than a regular latte and less frothy than a cappuccino.

The Milk Bar
The Milk Bar is the little sister of Antipodean coffee shop The Flat White and offers the same excellent Australian/New Zealand coffee, though be it in a slightly smarter setting. This chilled café also offers a selection of light meals for eat in or take away.

Lantana café
Winner of Time Out’s 2009 London café of the year Award, Lantana café offers superb coffee and delicious Australian-infused dishes in the heart of London. Try one of their famous Aussie-style breakfasts while sipping on a flat white. Great meeting spot for expat Aussies.

Workshop (formally St Ali)
Coming to London from Melbourne, Workshop (formally St Ali) offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and some fantastic coffee. You’ll be greeted by an Aussie voice as you make your way to a table where you will no doubt order something from Down Under. Friendly service from this Australian café and restaurant.

Allpress Espresso
Popular in New Zealand and Australian, Allpress Espresso is an Antipodean café that reflects Australian and New Zealand coffee culture. Considered to be one of the leading Kiwi coffee shops for quality and price in London, Allpress Espresso is a great meeting spot for expats looking to hear familiar accents.

Nude Espresso
Winner of Independent Café of the year UK 2010 awarded by the Café Society, this Australian-run café/bar will please expats and those looking for a healthy bite to eat. Caravan
This funky brassier is headed by New Zealander Chef Miles Kirby and offers a plethora of dishes, each created to work with the wide variety of different and unique ingredients on offer. Try the squid ‘pancake’ or the peanut butter and blue cheese wontons for a taste of something sensational.

Green Cauldron
Australians are very passionate about their coffee, and with this in mind, Green Cauldron is planning on opening 50 shops throughout the UK over the next five years, starting in Liverpool. Owning their own 100-acre farm Down Under, they are so proud of their coffee they also intend to sell wholesale to independent coffee shops.

A mate of mine who was “turned onto” Aussie coffee after visiting me in Aus, says that Shoreditch Grind in Old Street and Taylor Street Baristas in the City make the best flat whites he’s had since he got back to the UK.
kenmore brisbane cafe
Climpson & Sons on Broadway Market near London Fields make a great cuppa (and have links to the excellent London Fields Brewery, also run by Aussies I believe). For NZ coffee in East London, Long White Cloud, a cafe/shop/gallery on Hackney Road in Hoxton, gets a good wrap.
Boomers Cafe Chatham Dockside Outlet Centre. Great place and near Chatham Docks – a great day out
As an Aussie on the lookout for a good cafe loco at embankment, I stumbled on Herman ze German, though not Australian owned (does it matter?) it is supported by a few of us and though their ‘Wurst’ comes first – these guys also do great coffee.

Giddy Up Coffee in Fortune Park is owned and run by Aussie Lee Harte and serves yum specialist coffee by roasted by award winning London crew, home baked treats and all manners of conversation to go with your Anzacs – located next to daily delish food market at Whitecross Street(nr Old St tube)- Giddy Up and you will bump into aussies, kiwis, locals and caffeinated corporates
“Brew” on Northcote Road, Clapham Junction. It’s a winner.
Grind Coffee Bar on Lower Richmond Street, Putney is run by antipodeans and serves the best flat white anywhere in London. Also only a stones throw from the Thames. St Ali in Clerkenwell comes a close second
What about Taylor Street Baristas in Richmond and the City? And Sacred in Westfield and Covent Garden? They both make a proper Flat White.

What’s all this about Australian coffee? Aussies don’t know how to make coffee! Rather give me a nice cuppa from Vida e caffe.
The Roastery Cafe – 789 Wandsworth Road. Run by Kiwi brothers (I think). They do a great brunch and a top cup of joe. Fun atmosphere too.
I agree with Sam’s comment – The Black Lab is brilliant and the two brothers who run it are very passionate. Another favourite in Clapham is the Glow Lounge (next door to Gigalum). It is not strictly Aussie food/drinks but they do a flat white very similar to home. We go every Saturday!
St Ali in Clerkenwell is absolutely amazing! Just like its parent safe in South Melbourne the coffee is perfect every time!
There’s a great kiwi cafe on Wandsworth Road, just down the road from Artesian Wells. It’s called The Roastery and they roast their own beans in their on-site roaster, which you can go and look at, and do great ANZAC bickies, chocolate brownies, carrot cake along with focaccias and paninis. They do a brunch service on Fridays and weekends and it’s like at home, a real breakfast.
The Black Lab just out side Clapham Common tube is run by a pair of English brothers who both went travelling and realised what good coffee was. Very good coffee & snacks just like at home (PS I’m an Aussie).
