Aussie killed at Oktoberfest

The unnamed man was walking back to his Oktoberfest campsite after attending the traditional German beer celebration late on Sunday night. He was running alongside train tracks in Laim, near to his campsite, when he tripped and fell under the wheels of a train and was crushed and killed instantly. The incident happened at around 1:20am according to reports. He was going back to the campsite with a  friend, a New Zealand citizen, who was uninjured in the incident.

The group that the man was travelling with, called the Fanatics supporters group, confirmed that one of their members had died in an accident. The man’s family had been notified early on Monday.
