Tame Impala release second album, Lonerism
Tame Impala release their new album Lonerism in the UK on 8 October 2012.
Tame Impala, the Perth grown “neo-pyschers”, well known for their self-styled “psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock music”, are set to unveil their unique sound once again to a global audience. Described as “a real sonic feast”, occupying a “new sonic space, brighter and dreamier” (Triple J), Lonerism has already received critical acclaim ahead of its impending release.
Lucky Australians may have already have had their taste, with the album scheduled for release today down under (5 October). The cover-art of the album is a visual taste of the sounds that lie within – a muted, soft-edged pastel infused photo of happy people lounging in a park in the sun. Taken from outside the park, through bars looking in, perhaps it signifies a world of nostalgic happiness one can only hope to join if they become part of the club – that being the club where the melodic blues fused beats of Tame Impala are constantly on playlist repeat.
For us living here in the UK we have to wait until Monday 8 October to reward our ears with the whole album. It is set to be released on iTunes, as well as through Recordstore.co.uk and Rough Trade (this option getting you a Limited Edition Signed CD + Bonus CD).
For a preview taste, the band have already shared the song “Apocalypse Dreams”, and the whole album is currently being streamed on Guardian.co.uk.
The band tour the UK from 30 October, starting in London at the O2 Academy Brixton. See Event Listings for more details.
