Australians rock the UK music festivals

Australian bands have been making the trip to Europe for years now, not just to escape the Australian winter but also to entertain music hungry ex-pats and new fans at festivals across the continent.

FOLLOWING Southern Sounds earlier this month, Australian music fans will be able to catch plenty of other Aussie bands during the 2011 UK festival season.

Aussie rock God Jimmy Barnes will be rocking out while Pendulum are very, very busy this summer but the new kids on the block are here as well and bands like Tame Impala, Deep Sea Arcade, Cloud Control, The Jezabels and heaps more will all be performing at various festivals and gigs around the country.

Plus, bands that you may never have heard of are right up there with the big boys, like the country Victorian rock chicks Stonefield who are playing Glastonbury.

And anyone at Rolf Harris at Glasto last year will be able to attest to the extra warm fuzziness you feel inside, swamped in a sea of Aussie flags and inflatable kangaroos for an hour or two on a foreign festival shore.
