Four London based teams made the trek down to London Irish Rugby Club’s home ground in Sunbury to battle it out with the eight local sides that were curious about tag rugby and decided to give it a go.

With all early summer tag rugby competitions kicking off this week across the capital, last week saw a host of spring finals take place.

If you ask tag rugby players what the best feature of being part of the tag rugby community in London is besides the game itself, it’s likely to be the sense of community spirit, the feeling of finding a family away from home and the social outlet provided through playing with familiar faces and making new friends.

The spring weather has well and truly arrived in London, with temperatures consistently reaching double digits. It’s a perfect time to get out and participate in a free tag rugby taster session taking place at a number of locations across London and Reading.

The weather gods smiled on the London Try Tag Rugby community on Saturday for the 2nd annual Wasps Tag Rugby Festival, with The Chargers taking out the A Grade title for the second year running.

DESPITE the temperatures still being below double digits and players eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring weather, tag rugby players across the capital have not been deterred.

Try Tag Rugby CEO, Phillip Browne, made a recent trip down under for the Oztag Australia NSW state cup titles. Whilst in Wollongong he also managed to catch up with some Australian representative players to find out their thoughts on the expansion of tag rugby in London and the UK.

This week in London Try Tag Rugby will see the remaining winter league finals take place, as well as the new spring season competition kicking off across London.

With this year’s winter seemingly dragging on and on, the London Tag Rugby community have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the spring season and with it, some warmer weather.

With the spring season just around the corner and leagues kicking off in two weeks time, the next fortnight will see semi-finals and finals take place across the capital for the winter season.

Try Tag Rugby will be holding a Valentine’s Day match, for single girls and guys in Bermondsey. The company are also looking to hire two competition supervisors to join their growing team.

With the Try Tag Rugby winter competitions hitting the halfway mark this week, the talk on everyone’s lips in the London tag rugby community is about the upcoming spring season.

Great Britain and Ireland have completed their 2012 Tag Rugby World Cup campaign in Auckland, New Zealand.

Last Friday’s Try Tag Rugby Christmas party was a big success, with over 150 Tag Rugby players in attendance at Phibbers pub to welcome the start to the festive season.
